Juan Carlos Mejia Guerrero will share the insights gained from a career dedicated to advocating for human rights. Guerrero is the owner and founder of the Center for Demography and Human Rights, a consulting firm that provides services for designing and managing social projects, research projects, outreach activities and online training to further women’s rights and human rights.

A headshot of Juan Carlos Mejia GuerreroSocial justice, public policy, and the pursuit of peace have been the leitmotifs of Guerrero's life. He has managed numerous social, humanitarian, economic and institutional-based projects as well as coordinated several programs for low-income families and first-generation college students in the Roanoke Valley and Covington/Alleghany area.

This is a National Hispanic Heritage Month event. It is sponsored by H.O.L.A., the Modern Languages Department and the Latin American & Caribbean Studies Concentration in collaboration with the President's Office.
